The next stage of the project implemented in the territory of “Kuhul Mountain and Cave” was held at the initiative of the Azerbaijan Ecotourism Association and with the support of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, the State Tourism Agency, Eco Volunteers, Azerbaijan Tourism Volunteers organizations and the Sabunchu District Executive Authority.
At the event held on the International Day of Mountains, cleaning works were carried out in the area and inside the cave, various burning wastes were collected, and the methods of erasing painted inscriptions on the rocks were tested.
In addition to these, the replacement of outdated climbing equipment has been started, new and renewable climbing routes have been reviewed, and some tests have been conducted.
Creation of mountain routes and restoration of existing routes are carried out by professional climbers Israfil Ashurli and Rauf Zeynalov in accordance with international mountaineering and safety standards.
The purpose of the project is to carry out cleaning, stocking, beautification, information-marking, and restoration works in the area of Kühul Dağ (Razin Dağ and Cave) with the support of relevant institutions, and to remake this place into ecotourism spot, including alpinism, picnic, speleology, archeological, historical, adventure, hiking and fully realize its potential for tourism activities and expand the possibilities of its inclusion in the Baku Tourism Cluster in the near future.
