International tourism has continued to recover from the worst crisis in its history as arrival numbers reached 84% of pre-pandemic levels between January and July 2023, according to the latest data from UNWTO. The Middle East, Europe and Africa lead the global sector’s rebound.

Tourism sector in the country is gradually recovering. Closed land borders and expensive air tickets, of course, become an obstacle for many. However, in January-July of this year, 1 million 143.6 thousand foreigners and stateless persons arrived in Azerbaijan, which is 37.4% more than in the same period in 2022.
